The secret to a good result is keeping the motion small. A photo is taken from a single angle, so if the camera swings around, the model has to invent what it cannot see, and faces, hands and lettering break. Old family photos
Black-and-white photos from the family album give the most emotional results and need the most care: a good scan, only very small movements like breathing and blinking, and consent from the living people in the photo. An animated photo isn't a moment that really happened, it's the AI's guess; say so when you share it.

Which photos work best?
Sharp, well-lit photos with the subject in the middle of the frame give the most consistent videos. In very dark, blurry or crowded photos the model loses track of what matters. Match the video's aspect ratio to the photo: 16:9 for landscape photos, 9:16 for portrait photos, otherwise the photo gets cropped.
Text, logos or signs in the photo can garble as things move. With several people in the frame each face may drift on its own, so keep the motion even smaller. For a transition between two photos, use first and last frame mode: two photos taken from the same angle give the smoothest result.

Tips
- Keep the prompt short and ask for one motion; several big movements break the photo.
- Write “natural” and “very small movement” for faces; laughing and talking change the face.
- Match the aspect ratio to the photo; the wrong ratio crops it or makes the model invent the edges.
- If you don't like a result, try the same prompt on another engine; engines read the same photo differently.
- For a seamless loop, turn on the loop option in the advanced settings; the last frame then matches the first.
- If the photo contains text or a logo, crop it out or keep the motion away from that area.
Consent and real people
Get clear consent before animating someone else's photo, and use children's photos only with a parent's permission. Don't present an animated photo as a real recording, and don't show anyone saying or doing something they didn't. Some engines refuse photos of real people.
